Terms of Service
Effective date: 19 July 2026
1. About these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the HELM platform at my.thehelm.co.in (the “Platform”), which provides online learning, hackathons, and a business directory under one account. By creating an account or using the Platform you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
2. Accounts and eligibility
You must provide accurate information when registering and keep it current. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password confidential. Certain actions — enrolling in a course, registering for or submitting to a hackathon, submitting a directory listing — require a verified email address. You agree to accept the consent recorded at signup as evidence of your agreement to the version of these Terms in effect at that time.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Platform, including by attempting to gain unauthorised access, disrupting its operation, uploading malicious files, infringing others’ rights, or submitting unlawful, misleading, or harmful content. We may suspend or disable accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of content you submit — hackathon submissions, directory listings, profile details, and similar. You grant HELM a limited licence to store, display, and process that content as needed to operate the Platform (for example, showing an approved directory listing publicly, or forwarding a hackathon submission to the organiser). You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to the content you submit.
5. Moderation and directory listings
Business directory listings are reviewed before they appear publicly and may be approved, rejected with a reason, or removed. Edits to an approved listing are reviewed before they go live. We may decline or remove any listing at our discretion, consistent with these Terms.
6. Courses, certificates, and hackathons
Course access is provided as described at enrolment. Certificates issued on completion attest only to the completion recorded on the Platform and may be verified through the public verification page. Hackathon deadlines are enforced in Indian Standard Time (IST) as shown on each hackathon; submissions after the deadline are not accepted.
7. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect and how we handle it, including your rights under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). It forms part of these Terms.
8. Disclaimers and liability
The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. HELM is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the Platform. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, ask you to re-confirm your agreement. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any disputes. For questions about these Terms, contact us through the details published on thehelm.co.in.
